Review: Rejuv-A-Wafers

A few weeks ago we received a box of pet supplements to review: Rejuv-A-Wafers.

“Rejuv-A-Wafers for Dogs and Cats provide additional nutrition for your cherished pet, by rejuvenating your loving companion with nature’s most nutritious superfood. Rejuv-A-Wafers is a daily supplement packed with beneficial antioxidants, vitamin C and vitamin A, plus minerals, protein, beta-carotene, chlorophyll and fiber that will help your pet thrive.”

All three dogs were on it for 17 days, with Lassie getting two a day (after about a week) and with Petal and Ella each getting one a day (though Petal probably could’ve had two).

The Rejuv-A-Wafers are a small, circular shape and are very easy to crumble if you have a picky pet and want to crumble it over their food.

Petal and Ella both took the little wafer from me and ate it as if it was a treat (I was very surprised by this as they won’t usually eat supplements like they’re treats). Lassie, however, would not be fooled. He knew it was much too healthy to be considered a treat! But he gobbled it up no problem when I placed it in his food. I didn’t even have to break or crumble it.

Photobucket
Just like Sun Chlorella for humans, REJUV-A-WAFERS™ will help purify your pet’s body of dangerous toxins and chemicals, enhance your pet’s health with an abundance of beta-carotene, and help improve your pet’s appearance and overall health and well-being.”

My box of 60 wafers came with two resealable bags, each with 30 wafers.

I started the dogs on this supplement the morning after it arrived in the mail. They all did well that day, but that night the girls had a little bit of runny poo (eeewww, I know), so I skipped giving it to them on the second day and wasn’t worried about it; as with most new products, they needed time to adjust. I was surprised, though, that I only needed to skip that second day. After that, they all did very well on it!

Photobucket

Though they weren’t on it for very long, I did notice a few changes that I think came from these supplements. Ella, for example, has her cranky days where she snips and snaps at Lassie and Petal just because they looked at her or walked past her. She’s never harmed them, she just gets snippety sometimes (usually when she’s sore— she has a bad hip). But while she was on the Rejuv-A-Wafers, she didn’t have many (or any, now that I really think about it) of those moments.
Lassie and Petal’s coats look great! There were no negative changes at all, my dogs did wonderfully on it.

If you want to read more about the Rejuv-A-Wafers you can visit their website here.
However, I want to point out that while the website says to give pets up to 25 pounds 1 wafer and pets over 25 pounds 2 wafers, the box actually says to give pets up to 50 pounds 1 wafer and pets over 50 pounds 2 wafers. I would follow the box’s directions over the website’s.

Overall, I think it’s a great supplement!

Disclosure: I was sent a box of Rejuv-A-Wafers, free of charge, for this review. All opinions are my own based on my own personal experience while using this product.

Monday Mischief: Watermelon is Greatly Enjoyed by All.

Last Monday, when reporting on some mischief from the previous Monday, I mentioned that I caught Petal in the act of something mischievous just hours after Lassie got into the trash.

First of all, Petal has a bad habit of jumping up onto the kitchen table. Rotten, I know. She mostly does it for attention and just stands there waiting for me to come and tell her to get down. If I ignore her, she’ll eventually get down on her own and leave the kitchen, looking all dejected and unloved as she flops down on the floor. That’s what she does… unless there is half a watermelon on the table.
Which brings me to my second point: I did not leave the watermelon out.
But I did hear someone happily munching on it and then realized that Petal wasn’t in sight because she was busy doing this…

Photobucket
“Mmmm, I love when the humans leave tasty snacks out!”

Photobucket
“It’s so sweet of them.”

And yes, yes I did go and get my camera before I told her to get down.

PhotobucketPhotobucket“Look, they even left a spoon in here for me. How thoughtful! Wish they would’ve remembered I don’t have opposable thumbs though… “

Little stinker!
I don’t know what it was about April 30th, but that was the day of great mischief!

Now let’s hope that my family doesn’t see this blog post. Because questions like, “Isn’t that the watermelon I ate later that evening, Marquie?” might arise.

And the answer to that would have to be, “It might’ve been, brother. It might’ve been.”
For the squeamish (and incase my brother does, indeed, read this): don’t worry! I scraped out all the contaminated watermelon and cut off the edges. Plus it’s been like two weeks and you’re still alive, brother! So it’s all good! ;]

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and Mother’s Day!

Pretty Ella evokes jealousy in Camera-Happy Collies

I’m sure I’ve said this before (right here in fact!), but Lassie and Petal are in love with the camera.
While Ella couldn’t care less. Every once in a great while she’ll be cooperative long enough for me to snap several shots of her, but most of the time it’s her life’s mission to make every picture of herself a great black blur. And when you try to get a picture of those beautiful brown eyes, just before you can capture those amazing eyes, she closes them or turns her head the other way.
Pest.

Sometimes bribery works, and other times she just looks like a treat-crazed monster.
But yesterday, yesterday she was in a very mellow mood and I was able to snatch some good pictures of her.
Much to the Collies’ dismay.

While I’m taking these pictures of sweet Ella:

something like this pops up in the frame:

Photobucket
A jealous Collie butt belonging to Petal.

She’s not the only one who will demean oneself by stooping to such drastic measures for a little camera time. Oh no.
A few sweet pictures later, and…

PhotobucketPhotobucket

this face will appear in the frame…

Photobucket
“That’s enough! We need some pictures of ME!”

While we all love seeing your handsome face, Lassie (and your adorable fox-like butt, Petal), we love seeing pretty Ella, too!

Even when she ends up with debris on her head.

Monday Mischief: Trash Dog

Last Monday, for Monday Mischief, I posted about Lassie and Petal’s fondness for bottle crushing. Literally minutes after I published that blog post, this scene awaited me in the kitchen and I thought, “Well, at least I have something for next week!”
Photobucket

Are you wondering who possibly could’ve made this mess?
Or are you pretty sure it was Petal?

Photobucket
“Who? Me?”

Because Petal is a fair guess. She is the youngest and by far the most rambunctious and mischievous. She also loves to search the kitchen for scraps. So it could’ve been Petal.
Except for one thing…

Photobucket

Our trash can has a lid on it and Petal doesn’t know how to open it.
So scratch Petal off the list.

Is Ella your next guess?

Photobucket
“Innocent little me? In the trash?”

Another fair guess. Ella has a knack for trouble. We’ve seen her digging plenty of times and she causes plenty of trouble around the house. So it could’ve been Ella.
But… did you notice what was on the lid of the trash can pictured above?
Is that… Collie hair?
“But surely it wasn’t Lassie!” You say?

Photobucket
Ignore that innocent looking face! It is really the look of guilt!

Oh, but it was. It was definitely Lassie who dug around in the trash, tossing things he didn’t like onto the floor until he found what his nose had been searching for all along: an empty cat food can.
You don’t believe me? You don’t believe that that well mannered and well behaved boy would make such a mess or risk getting his hair dirty by digging in the trash?

Well, lucky for you, I have further photographic evidence. Because that adorable bad dog had another go at it after I cleaned everything up.

Photobucket

Mischievous little stinker.

But I have to say, it is one of the most hilarious and oddly endearing things that he does. I don’t know if it’s the way he lifts the lid open so effortlessly with his nose or the way the lid rests over his head as he digs for treasures. Or maybe it’s the guilty look combined with the “Oh crap!” look that he gets on his face when you catch him in the act.

P.S. Hours after the trash can incident, I found Petal in the act of something very mischievous, but we’ll save that for another Monday. ;]

Collie Soccer Video

I recently showed you all some pictures of Petal playing soccer. I also mentioned that I should record it sometime and a few days ago I did. I got several little clips on two different days of her playing soccer and I threw them all together in a quick little video.

Sorry about all the noise. It’s been insanely windy around here this week! Feel free to watch with your speakers off or on low, there’s not much to listen to anyway. ;]

Have a lovely weekend!
