Post-bath: Lassie

Yesterday you saw this:
Photobucket

Which after hours and hours of brushing, bathing, drying and brushing again resulted in this:

Photobucket

Look at that, he’s literally sparkly clean.
It’s just too bad you guys can’t pet his silky fur or smell how wonderful he smells.
And no, petting his picture on your computer screen won’t work, unless your screen is made of Collie fur.
Smelling his pictures won’t work either, unless you have a scratch and sniff computer screen.
So you’ll just have to take my word for it. He is soft and he smells wonderful.

Photobucket

By the way, I wasn’t exaggerating when I said he took hours to bathe. It takes me around 2-3 and a half hours to bathe him. Depending on when he was last brushed and bathed and depending on whether or not I bathe him at home or at the self grooming station at our local pet store, Urban Dawgz. It’s much faster at Urban Dawgz with all their great grooming equipment, but I didn’t have $10 to spend on his bath this time (and I couldn’t remember which days were self-grooming days and which days their groomer was in, hah), so we did it at home, which takes longer.

Photobucket

I spent days brushing him before the actual bathing took place.
I had fallen a little behind on the brushing.
Okay, maybe a lot.
But he looks great now! Haha.
Anyway, enough of my commentary, just enjoy the rest of his pictures. :]

I just love smooching that nose!

But it’s April!

When I looked out the kitchen window this morning I saw this:
Photobucket

Weather, I don’t know if you realize this, but… it’s April.
When I said “April showers bring May flowers” the other day, I meant RAIN showers not snow showers!

We’re not so sure about this.
Normally we love snow, but lately we’ve been enjoying some really lovely spring weather and the snow just sabotaged it!

Photobucket
“This is getting old.”

Petal seems to be pretty happy with it though. She was bouncing around in it this morning.

Photobucket
“YAY! Snow!”

Ella is not a happy dog. She’s tired of this cold weather and this snow!

Photobucket
“Aaahhh! The frozen white fluff is back! Let me in!”

When I went out to get the Collies after their morning potty break I found Lassie like this:

Photobucket

One of his eyebrows was made of snow!

Photobucket
“This isn’t fun anymore. Let me in!”

Photobucket
“I know I was excited before, but… my nose is frozen!”

Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is warmer than ours!

Easter 2012

How the dogs spent Easter:

Enjoying frozen Kongs.

How I spent Easter:

Pigging out on some of the best candies from See’s Candies. Mmm.

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter spent with loved ones!
I know I did. :]

Preparing for Easter

The dogs have been preparing for Easter in the past few days.
They’ve been preparing in a… disturbing way.
Disturbing how?
Well, I’ll let the dogs do the talking.

Photobucket
“Why are we doing this, Ella?”
“Because, Petal! This Sunday the Easter Bunny is coming and this time, we’re gonna be ready.”

Photobucket
“Are you sure we should be harming poor little bunnies, Ella?”
“This bunny we’re practicing on may be harmless, but the Easter Bunny? That’s one mean, evil, conniving little bunny! He terrifies children and forces them to search for his eggs! Bunnies don’t even LAY eggs!”

Photobucket
“But wait, Ella! Before you hurt him, I heard the humans saying something about the Easter Bunny leaving candy! We like candy!”
“He leaves CHOCOLATE, Petal! POISON!”

Photobucket
“Let’s get him.”

Photobucket
“Give me the bunny, Ella! When will you ever learn that it’s all just for fun and games for the humans? The Easter Bunny won’t cause any harm. Stop filling Petal’s head with nonsense!”

Happy Saturday! Have a lovely Easter Sunday, keep those chocolate bunnies out of your pet’s reach!
They’re poison I tell you! Poison!
I, however, will be eating as many as I can get my hands on.

Running shots

I absolutely love getting pictures of the dogs in action. I love it when they run laps around the yard. I think the way they move is beautiful and I’ve always been jealous of four-legged creatures (yes, I was one of those kids who liked to walk and run on my hands and knees (how did you guess?! ;P), I also kept my fingers curled into my palms and called them my ‘paws’ and nearly everyday I had my Mom put my hair up into two high pigtails or as I called them: puppy dog ears). To run like that would be so great!
Here are some action pictures I got about a week ago.
Enjoy. :]

Wordless Wednesday: If my dogs were horses.

But first, I must interrupt this Wordless Wednesday program to bring you…
WORDS!
In the form of promoting and letting you all know about a wonderful fundraiser that’s been brought to my attention.

The Barkers Dozen (an organic and eco-friendly dog treat company based in Chicopee, Massachusetts) has launched a fundraiser for a beautiful rescue dog in need, Daffy. Daffy is currently suffering from a mysterious, undiagnosed disease and The Barkers Dozen has put together a fundraiser to help Daffy get the care she needs.

Through the month of April, 50% of profits made from treat sales at The Barkers Dozen will go to Daffy and her owner Ingrid.
Plus, if you use the promo code “DAFFY” at checkout, you’ll get a special thank you gift!

You can read more about the fundraiser here: “Dollars for Daffy” Fundraiser Launched
You can read more about Daffy here: Barkers Buddy: Daffy
And you can purchase some treats from The Barkers Dozen here: The Barkers Dozen

Now is a great time to get some goodies for your dogs! ;]

Now back to being wordless.
