Winter Wonderland!

This morning we woke up to a lovely winter wonderland!
My dogs LOVE the snow and so do I, so we went outside to play.
Well, okay, so the girls played while I took pictures and Lassie explored.

I’ll get you, Ella!

Hey Mom, wanna hear a great story?!

I WILL get you, Ella!

You should know that he ran right smack! into the camera after this picture.

Really, Mom, it’s a great story. It doesn’t matter if you’ve heard it before! Let me tell it again!
Photobucket
WhatEVER, Mom! I’ll just tell someone else my story then!

Now I wish I had some hot chocolate.
Is anyone else enjoying some snow? 😀
Or do you and your dogs hide inside?

First snow of the year.

This morning we woke up to the power being out (it’s back on now) and snow on the ground! Our first snow of the year, that stuck anyway. A few weeks ago it snowed a bit, but didn’t actually stick to the ground.

In the snowy dog run to do their morning business.

Of course this bit of snow is already melting away as I type, but it’s still fun.. and cold!

So I’m keeping warm with my three little furry space heaters.

Yay for warm, snuggling dogs!

Ella loves…

Photobucket

1: Ella loves to give kisses until the recipient can no longer breathe.

2: Ella loves to wag, wag, wag her tail and do a little dance whenever she’s excited. Not even whipping herself in the eye with her own tail will keep her from happy dancing.
3: Ella loves to ‘roo, roo, roooo!’ Especially after I’ve finally gotten the collies to quiet down (anyone who owns collies will likely know how difficult this can be at times).
4: Ella loves to ride in the car.
5: Ella loves to get all wet and then roll in the dirt.
6: Ella loves neck scratches.
7: Ella loves breaking the rules and then giving you that wide-eyed innocent look so she can get away with it.
8: Ella loves to carry things, whether it be a sock, a shoe, a toy, or a piece of paper.
9: Ella secretly loves to snuggle with Petal.
10: Ella loves silencing those squeaky toys forever and hiding/keeping the toys away from the collies.
11: Ella loves her collies.

But with those beautiful looks, who could blame them?

Photobucket

Or maybe it’s just my Collies?
Photobucket
My Collies have been known to come right on over whenever the camera is out. Ella usually just ignores it (sometimes, if you’re lucky, she’ll be all cute and cross her paws or something) or she’ll move right before you snap the picture so it’ll turn out all blurry (thanks Ella). The Collies, however, need little to no encouragement or guidance when it comes to posing.

They’re never too shy for a close-up!

But no, no. It can’t be just my Collies. It’s gotta be all Collies.

Right?

New Toys!

My spoiled dogs received some new toys from Planet Dog (my our newest obsession) on Thursday. They got a Orbee-Tuff RecycleBONE (black!) and a blue and green Orbee-Tuff ball on a rope! We got the ball for our walks and to try out in the water and we got the bone just because it’s fun.

Ball!

Both of them have been a big hit already, though I did put the ball up so we wouldn’t lose it before we got to test it out in the water. All three of them have loved the bone, especially when I put little treats inside of it. Petal was the first one to claim, taking it out of the box when it arrived in the mail and running off with it before I could get the tag off. After getting that off, Ella took it and had a great time chomping on it until she fell asleep, but since Ella’s not one to lose (even when snoozing.. get it?) she crossed her paws over it and took a nap like this…

Mine!!

Lassie has also given the bone a good chew and found that it’s pretty nice! Much better than most of the rubber toys we buy (though we still love KONG too).

But Lassie’s favorite is still the limited edition Orbee we got several weeks ago.

Photobucket
He loves how high this ball bounces and bounces right along with it. It’s adorable.

We also have the Orbee snowball, which is Ella and Petal’s favorite ball. I think they like that it’s lighter and chewier. They often walk around just chomping on it, like it’s a giant gum ball.
Hey, there’s an idea for you Planet Dog! Gum ball Orbees! ;]

Sleepy Dogs.

The end of this week has been pretty low-key so far with the cold weather we’ve been having (come on, where’s Spring?!).  So I’ve been able to capture some sleepy dog moments. And what’s cuter than a picture of a sleeping dog?
Photobucket
How about a sleeping dog and cat?

The Dog Park.

Can you believe that I’ve been a dog owner for six years and have never visited a dog park? Crazy! We changed that on Wednesday when we took Lassie to the nearest dog park, which was 50 miles away. It was well worth the drive though. The park was very clean and the regular visitors, both human and dog, were very friendly. Lassie had a blast meeting new dogs and running around in the sun.

Lassie got to meet a total of five dogs at the park. He met a Labradoodle, a Basset Hound/Poodle mix (what a cool looking dog! I wish I had a picture of him other than the one of Lassie sniffing his butt, lol), a Terrier of some sort, a Boxer and a four month old yellow Lab.
We had so much fun and next time we’re taking Petal too. :]
