As some of you may know up until February of this year I was living in Southern Utah with my family. I won’t say where exactly, but I will say that I did not enjoy it. I’ve lived in many parts of Utah in my short 23 years and Northern Utah is the place to be, in my opinion. I lived in Southern Utah for six or seven years before Petal and I moved in with some dear, dear friends of mine in February. We were actually only suppose to be at their place for a week or two but they talked me into staying longer and weeks became months.
In September some personal matters came up and Petal and I had to move back in with my family. It was really rough to leave these friends of mine and it was hard to say good bye to Northern Utah again.
Luckily, however, my parents found that a house we had looked at in Northern Utah last year was still available for sale and had come down in price. They took a chance and hoped for the best and by Halloween day the house was theirs— ours.
We had been wanting this for so long, to leave Southern Utah and to own our own home again, a home big enough for our large family. We had tried so many times to move over the years we spent in Southern Utah and were unsuccessful every time, we’d given up hope on moving. When the day to rent a Uhaul and haul our butts out of there came, we were so excited. A few weeks of being in our new home in Northern Utah and we’re still excited! And so grateful. So grateful for our beautiful home and all the plans we have for it, grateful for the kind people we have met, grateful for a beautiful town to explore and more things to do. I’m especially grateful for having been able to find a job just two weeks after moving in. It’s a seasonal job but it’s a start and I’m very grateful for it.
I’m also grateful to see that Petal seems to be adjusting to all these new changes pretty well. As have her dog and cat cousins.
Today begins Share Gratitude week! A blog hop brought to you by Cascadian Nomads, Oz The Terrier, Kitty Cat Chronicles and myself. You are invited to join in anytime throughout the week (the hop is open from the 24th – the 30th) and as often as you’d like (multiple entries are welcome!). You can join in on the fun by blogging about what you’re grateful for, sharing on social media using the hashtag #ShareGratitude or right here in the comments! We would love to know what you are grateful for this holiday season and year round.
Grab the badge and the Linky code and join in (please link directly to a Share Gratitude post and not your home/main/landing page. Thank you!)
Adding more than one post is encouraged; the more gratitude, the better.
If we’d planned to both post about being grateful for home, I wouldn’t be smiling so largely! Or maybe my huge smile is because I am just so, so happy for you!!! This is such wonderful news. Congratulations, thank you for sharing tour gratitude and I truly appreciate you co-hosting the hop!

I’m glad you are back in the area you like the best. There are part of southern Utah I would live in, And some that I definitely would not.

One of the only positive things about a bad living experience is the gratitude you have when you are in some place better. It does give you a perspective and appreciation when the minor irritations of your new place are nothing compared to the bad stuff of the old.
I wish all of you joy in your new home.
