Lassie’s Day – #ShareGratitude

image
Today I am thankful that I knew you, Lassie. That I had the honor and the pleasure of having you in my life. I am thankful for every lesson learned, some easy, some difficult. I am thankful for your unfailing loyalty, your remarkable patience and your unconditional love. I am thankful for every laugh you brought me and even every tear because I know that my “pain is a sign you have been blessed to draw very close to another. You have loved and you have been loved. The hurt you feel is an indication of your wonderful humanness, your sensitivity, your openness. It is a proof that another has touched you deeply, even as you have touched them. While you may wish you did not hurt as much as you do, you dare not forget that your pain is none other than the result of your joy.” (source)

I am so incredibly grateful for the eight, almost nine, incredible and informative years that you gave me.
I love and miss you, always, sweet boy.

Thanks for watching over me.

Today is day four of Share Gratitude week! A blog hop brought to you by Cascadian Nomads, Oz The Terrier, Kitty Cat Chronicles and myself. You are invited to join in anytime throughout the week (the hop is open from the 24th – the 30th) and as often as you’d like (multiple entries are welcome!). You can join in on the fun by blogging about what you’re grateful for, sharing on social media using the hashtag #ShareGratitude or right here in the comments! We would love to know what you are grateful for this holiday season and year round.

  1. What a wonderful sentiment, Marquie. Thank you. The idea for this hop was born out of exactly this kind of gratitude; the kind that rises out of the ashes of great loss. And I think the kind of appreciations we find while missing one we love is 1) exactly what they would want and 2) the most profound kind of thanks. Me and mine wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am so grateful you are co-hosting the Share Gratitude hop!
