Instagrams of the Past

The other day an Instagram user was browsing through my photos and liking loads of them. It made me smile and cry: happy tears and sad tears. They liked a bunch of old Instagrams, many of which included Lassie. They were photos I hadn’t seen in awhile, so to have them pop up in my notifications was a lovely, if not bittersweet, surprise.

I thought I would share a few of my favorites.

Four images of Lassie. 1: Lassie laying with his face against mine and his head resting on my chest. 2: Lassie sound asleep as he snuggles with me on the couch, using my arm as his pillow. 3: Lassie napping on the floor as Petal uses his thick mane of fur around his neck as a leg rest. 4: Lassie's face in the camera as he holds a ball in his mouth and gives a look that says, "Go ahead and try to take it, I dare you."
1: Lassie randomly decided to lay his head across my chest and press his face against mine. So soft and so warm… I had no complaints.
2: Lassie snuggled up with me again. He was the best snuggler in the world. I miss those snuggles so much. He kept me warm and made me smile.
3: This one still cracks me up! Petal decided to put Lassie’s thick mane to use: as her leg rest! Haha.
4: I miss this face. I miss it so much. This is the “Try and take my ball.” face, “Try and take it. I DARE you!” He’d growl and grumble and chomp on that ball, showing you just how fun and awesome it was and oh, don’t you just want it so bad?! Then you’d reach for it and he dodge you faster than you could blink and he’d take off running. Such a tease!

Petal misses you too, Lassie. I can tell by the way she looks for you when she hears your name or even just a word that sounds like your name. She’s doing this less as time goes on, but just the other day someone said a word that sounded like your name and she stopped what she was doing and turned around to look for you.
She’s taking good care of me though. I often think of her as my “Therapist” or “Grief Counselor”.

Thank heaven for photos and for my tendency to photograph everything, every moment. I couldn’t imagine not getting to see your face at all anymore. You’re my wallpaper on my iPad so I can see your face everyday. Of course it’s not the same as seeing you face to face was, but it’s something.

I love you, Lass.

Tasty Tuesday – Newman’s Own Organics from Chewy

Woof! Hello! Petal here with a tasty treat review for all you canines. If you like a good crunch then you’ll love these treats!

Image of a ten ounce bag of Newman's Own Organics New Zealand Ranch Style Dog Treats in Lamb & Barley Recipe.
These are Newman’s Own Organics dog cookies. I got the lamb and barley flavor. I love lamb, which Mom thinks is weird because I was bred to herd and protect sheep. What can I say? I like what I like. Anyway. These cookies have some other great ingredients too: Organic Barley, Organic Lamb, Organic Carrots, Organic Apples, Organic Palm Oil (Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Organic Molasses.
All organic ingredients! Yummy!
These cookies are rectangle shape but are scored down the middle making them easy to break into two square cookies.

One whole cookie and half a cookie.

While they are a breeze to break in half, it is impossible for my (weak) human to break them any further. Which is PAWSOME because that means I get a whole square! But sometimes my stingy human snatches the bigger crumbs that I drop while we’re walking and makes me do extra tricks for them. She claims she only does this so that I can walk and eat at the same time AND still get to eat every last crumb, but if that were true she wouldn’t make me do more tricks for them.
Yeah, that’s right, I’ve got you all figured out Momma.

My KONG Genius. His name is “Leo” apparently.

My rotten Momma also likes to hide my squares in my KONG Genius. Something about keeping my naughty self busy.
I don’t know what she could possibly mean by THAT, I’m an angel.

I do love my KONG Genius though. Being a Collie, I’m a natural born Genius, so this toy is a wonderful challenge for me. Pair it with these cookies and I’m busy for quite some time!

Overall, I love these cookies! Mom usually gives me one after every walk (she’s going to stick to the training size crunch treats for during our walk) and one in my KONG Genius when I need some busy work to do. If you’re interested you can find these treats on Chewy.com! Tell your human to order you some now while they’re on sale for $3.99! And don’t worry little dogs, Newman’s Own has some smaller sized treats if these are too big for you. :)

Thanks Chewy!

Discloser: We were sent 1 bag of Newman’s Own Organics dog treats from Chewy.com in exchange for a review. We were not and are not being compensated for this review. All opinions expressed here are my own based on my personal experience with the product.
