Just Petal

Sunday evening I went for a walk with Petal and my youngest sister around the university campus. It’s beautiful there with all it’s trees and flowers and beautiful landscaping.
Here’s some of what we saw on our walk.

We saw lots of pretty flowers…

And the sweet face on the other end. 😉

“I am Queen of all the land!”

I had her climb up on this rock. She looked pretty proud of herself up there.
Even though I had her in a stay, I had my sister hold her leash while I took pictures. We were too close to a busy road for my comfort.

“You gotta use the crosswalk to cross the street!”

Petal also met a 15 year old buddy named Rufus. He was out for a stroll with his human too.
I didn’t get any pictures of that though.

Petal exactly where she belongs: with the petals. 😉

It was a beautiful, relaxing walk.

Pretty Ella evokes jealousy in Camera-Happy Collies

I’m sure I’ve said this before (right here in fact!), but Lassie and Petal are in love with the camera.
While Ella couldn’t care less. Every once in a great while she’ll be cooperative long enough for me to snap several shots of her, but most of the time it’s her life’s mission to make every picture of herself a great black blur. And when you try to get a picture of those beautiful brown eyes, just before you can capture those amazing eyes, she closes them or turns her head the other way.
Pest.

Sometimes bribery works, and other times she just looks like a treat-crazed monster.
But yesterday, yesterday she was in a very mellow mood and I was able to snatch some good pictures of her.
Much to the Collies’ dismay.

While I’m taking these pictures of sweet Ella:

something like this pops up in the frame:

A jealous Collie butt belonging to Petal.

She’s not the only one who will demean oneself by stooping to such drastic measures for a little camera time. Oh no.
A few sweet pictures later, and…

this face will appear in the frame…

Photobucket
“That’s enough! We need some pictures of ME!”

While we all love seeing your handsome face, Lassie (and your adorable fox-like butt, Petal), we love seeing pretty Ella, too!

Even when she ends up with debris on her head.

Camera Ham

Collies are such camera hams…

But with those beautiful looks, who could blame them?

Photobucket

Or maybe it’s just my Collies?
Photobucket
My Collies have been known to come right on over whenever the camera is out. Ella usually just ignores it (sometimes, if you’re lucky, she’ll be all cute and cross her paws or something) or she’ll move right before you snap the picture so it’ll turn out all blurry (thanks Ella). The Collies, however, need little to no encouragement or guidance when it comes to posing.

Photobucket
They’re never too shy for a close-up!

Photobucket
But no, no. It can’t be just my Collies. It’s gotta be all Collies.

Right?

Lots of Pictures

Today we went out and played in the mud and dirt and got nice and dirty!
Well except for Lassie, of course, ’cause that would’ve messed up his nicely brushed hair. ;]
But the girls had no problem with getting muddy and dirty.
Lassie says that’ll all change for Petal once her coat is long like his.
We’ll see. ;]
